TRUE TUMESCENT LIPOSUCTION FAQ's

What is the treatment like?
First, the area to be treated will be prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. Small 2 millimeter openings for the cannulas will then be created with a punch biopsy instrument under local anesthesia. Tumescent anesthesia will then be infused with a pump. Microcannulas will then be used to remove fat smoothly and evenly under suction.

What should a patient expect during treatment?
Treatment time will vary depending on patient characteristics and the area(s) being treated. The position in which you are placed will also vary depending on the location of treatment. You will typically be given an oral pain or anxiety medication before the procedure. Patients typically experience minimal to no discomfort during the treatment. Vital signs and heart rhythm will be monitored at all times during the procedure.

What areas can be treated with Tumescent Liposuction?
Tumescent Liposuction is used to remove fat deposits and recontour the skin in the following areas: inner thighs, hips, knees, love handles, abdomen, arms, upper back, breasts, neck, and jowls. It can also be used in certain medical conditions, including lipodystrophy, axillary hyperhidrosis, and gynecomastia, as well as in scar revision.

What should a patient expect after treatment?
After treatment there may be some initial bruising and swelling that quickly subsides. Anesthetic fluid will also drain from the insertion sites for approximately 24-48 hrs. Absorptive pads and compression garments will be used to minimize pain, swelling, and bruising after the procedure. Almost all patients are able to return to full activity after only 1-2 days.
